Pre Requisite for Admission

Applicants to the PGD Leading to Masters in Islamic Banking & Finance (Part-I) program must have a Bachelor’s Degree (with at least 2nd Division) from a recognized university in any discipline (preferably with Economics). Any how preference will be given to the employees of banks and financial institutions.

Program Overview

The Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre provides an enabling environments, conducive to scholarship and research. They are encourages to become responsible students, active participants and leaders and to apply their knowledge in real world context. The Sheikh Zayed Islamic Center programs are deisgned to provide world-class professional managers and entrepreneurs for the bank and finance industry in Pakistan. Students take part in broad variety of activities ranging from volunteering for charity work and participating in athletic events to organizing conferences on a variety of Islamic issues. A spirit of involvement is important because team work, leadership and being a responsible citizen are the foundations of the Sheikh Zayed Islamic Center experience.

PGD in Islamic Banking & Finance

The Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre offers a one-year Postgraduate Diploma Course in Islamic Banking and Finance to give its students comprehensive professional education. The program Islamic Banking and Finance offerings are designed to impart the knowledge needed for analysis, decision making and management in different organizations, including financial corporations, banks, insurance companies, investment firms and government units. The course is an application of the modern Theory of Islamic Banking and Financial modeling techniques to financial decision making and risk management of the finance institutions. The Postgraduate Diploma Course in Islamic Banking and Finance requires 12 courses (36 Credits).

The Post Graduate Diploma is One Year (two semester Programme) including Twelve(12) courses of 3 credit hours. each, 6 Course Per Semester.

Friday      : 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Saturday  : 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Sunday    : 9.30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Admission Procedure

Application Form Submission

The applications for the programme will be received online through our Admission Portal. The following documents are to be submitted along with the application form.

Attested photo copy of Matric/O Levels or equivalent certificate along with marks sheet.
Attested photo copy of the Intermediate/A Levels or equivalent certificate along with marks sheet.
Attested Photo Copy of the certificate of Graduation or equivalent along with marks proforma.
Equivalency certificate from University of Karachi (for outsiders)
Character Certificate from the head of the institution last attended or from a Gazetted Officer.
Two attested passport size recent photographs.
A photocopy of I.D.Card or a photocopy of B-Form.
NOC for Government/other organizations.

Written Aptitude Test

Students, applying for admission, have to pass a written test, comprising of Economics, Mathematics, Islamic Studies and English Language. Incase of Open Merit Admissions no Aptitude Test is conducted.

Interview

The students who have passed the written test have to qualify the prescribed Interview separately. Incase of Open Merit Admissions no Interview is conducted.

Final Selection

The final selection of only a limited number of candidates is made as per merit list.
