The Ph.D program is aimed at catering the needs of higher education, conceptual growth, mastering advanced knowledge and to make the students well versed to participate in solving research problems of the discipline of Islamic Banking and Finance in their research applications at Doctorate Level. Islamic Banking and Finance has emerged as another viable way of financial inter mediation. It has gained credibility and has spread worldwide and is preferred way of banking for on fifth of the world’s population. This program offers an opportunity to study the structure of the Islamic Banking and Finance industry including its theoretical foundations, products, performance, Islamic Financial instruments and risk management issues at Doctorate Level.
For Ph.D Program Research Seminars are held by the Research Candidate in accordance with the Research Topic and Subject. Also different courses are required to be completed as a part of course work.

This programme requires full time regular study of two semesters (one year) course work followed by a thesis.
Ph.D in Islamic Banking and Finance awarded by University of Karachi.
The candidate must possess M.Phil (Islamic Banking and Finance) or its equivalent examination with minimum 3.0 CGPA.
Admission Procedure
Application Form Submission
The applications for the program will be received online through the University of Karachi Admission Portal. All the requirements for application should be followed as per admission portal of the University of Karachi. The following documents should be prepared for attaching with the Application Form.
Attested photo copy of Matric certificate along with marks sheet.
Attested photo copy of the Intermediate or equivalent certificate along with marks sheet.
Attested Photo Copy of the Degree of Bachelor or equivalent along with marks proforma.
Attested Photo Copy of the Degree of M.Phil in Islamic Banking and Finance or equivalent along with marks proforma.
Equivalency certificate from the University of Karachi (for outsiders)
A photocopy of I.D.Card.
Migration Certificate.

Written Aptitude Test
Students, applying for admission, have to pass a written test, comprising of Subject Test and English Language Test conducted by University of Karachi.
Interview
The students who have passed the written test have to qualify the prescribed Interview separately.
Final Selection
The final selection of only a limited number of candidates is made as per merit list.
