Since its founding in 1985, Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre has been dedicated to expanding and sharing knowledge, inspiring innovation, and preserving cultural and scientific information for future generations.
Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre was established by His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahayan, President of United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi at Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar. The Centre was set up with the objective of streamlining instructions and research in Quranic Teachings and Arabic Studies while at the same time making these studies compatible with new developments in the fields of modern science and technology. This integratio n of Computer Science to Quranic and Arabic Studies is imperative to face new realities and future challenges.
Dr. Abida Perveen is the 11th Director of Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre, University of Karachi and an Associate Professor of Islamic Studies.
Doctor of Philosophy in Islamic Studies from the University of Karachi (2006), Dr. Abida Perveen is an Associate Professor at Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre, University of Karachi . She enjoys the distinction securing first class third position in her Masters of Arts in Islamic Studies (2000). Earlier, she obtained first class in Bachelor of Arts (1990), and first class in Bachelor of Education (1993) from the University of Karachi . Dr.Abida has been a first position holder throughout.The topic of her Ph.D. thesis was “Communication Strategies on Analytical Study in Islamic Perspective”.
